Quatre Saisons is a rural property set on the far southern tip of the Mundoonen Ranges nestled between Yass and Gundaroo Village, under one hour from the nation’s capital, Canberra.
Family owned and run, Quatre Saisons is a stud property where we raise, in a natural and ethical way, heritage breed animals using traditional and innovative methods.
Our 118 hectares is varied with grassy open native pastures, heath lands rich with wildflowers, hidden mossy gorges, dense eucalypt forest, towering stands of stringy bark, steep gullies and stony shale ridges.
The Yass River has its naissance in our steep ridge tops and dips in and out along the road. Together with Quatre Saisons extraordinary natural plant diversity, this river corridor provides shelter and nesting for many of the regions rarest mammals, birds and lizards.
Quatre Saisons provides a unique educational learning environment for children and young adults. We have a range of educational programs where students can learn hands on about Australian bush ecology, flora and fauna –skills that provide the basis for ongoing understanding of indigenous landscapes and fosters a development of ecological literacy and environmental stewardship.
Quatre Saisons is a unique environment for observation, and not just for students. Artists, photographers and ecologists have come to study the rare flora and extraordinary range of birdlife on our property, many species of which are endangered and not found widely in the Canberra region.
Quatre Saisons makes a perfect weekend retreat from the city. Accommodation is available for a relaxed and technology free stay.

Quatre Saisons Pure Bred Dorper Stud
The Dorper sheep are hardy, fertile, fast-growing meat sheep, originally bred in South Africa and now being bred in Australia for Australian conditions. Quatre Saisons is proud to present Dorper Sheep Society Flock No. D551, part of the NSW Ovine Brucellosis Accredited Flock.
